
Charter of the Silver Circle Club for Seniors
1. General Provisions
1.1. The Silver Circle Club for Seniors (hereinafter referred to as the Club) is a voluntary association of senior citizens created to organize leisure, communication, activities of interest and provide social support to senior citizens. Silver Circle Club is thematically oriented (“Handicrafts”, “Health”, “Chinese gymnastics”, “Nordic walking”, etc.).
1.2. The Club operates on the principles of voluntariness, equality, self-government and openness.
1.3. The Club operates in accordance with US law, this Charter and decisions of the General Meeting of Club Members.
1.4. The Club is not a legal entity.
1.5. The Club is organized on the basis of GFC Services LLC
1.6. The Club’s legal address (location): 9711 Washingtonian Blvd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.
2. Club Goals and Objectives
2.1. The Club’s goals are:
2.1.1. Promoting psychological adaptation to old age:
to help people adjust to a new social status and overcome the experiences associated with it.
2.1.2. Organizing leisure and entertainment:
hosting various events, such as concerts, theater visits, excursions, physical education classes, and others.
2.1.3. Communication and social support:
creating an environment for communication, mutual support, and overcoming loneliness.
2.1.4. Disease prevention and health maintenance:
physical education classes, yoga, dancing, and other activities aimed at strengthening health.
2.1.5. Development of creative abilities:
organization of classes in handicrafts, painting, music and other types of creative activities.
2.1.6. Informal education and skills development:
conducting courses on studying new technologies, legal knowledge and other useful skills.
2.1.7. Tourism direction:
organization of excursions and trips, visiting local attractions.
2.2. The objectives of the Club are:
- Organization and holding of cultural events (evenings of relaxation, concerts, excursions, meetings with interesting people, etc.).
- Organization of classes of interest (circles, sections, master classes).
- Organization of sports events and classes.
- Conducting lectures and seminars on topical issues.
- Organization of exhibitions and fairs of participants’ works.
- Provision of information and advisory assistance to participants.
- Assistance in the participation of Club members in public life.
3. Membership in the Club
3.1. Elderly citizens (women over 55 years old and men over 60 years old) who recognize the goals and objectives of the Club and wish to take an active part in its activities may be members of the Club.
3.2. Admission to membership in the Club is carried out on the basis of a written application, payment of membership fees and a decision of the Coordinating Council of the Club.
3.3. Club members have the right to:
- Participate in General Meetings of the Club with the right to vote.
- Elect and be elected to the Club Coordinating Council.
- Make proposals to improve the Club’s activities.
- Use the services and events organized by the Club.
- Resign from the Club at their own request.
3.4. Club members are obliged to:
Comply with this Charter, Actively participate in the Club’s activities, Pay membership fees on time, Respect other Club members.
4. Club Governing Bodies
4.1. The supreme governing body of the Club is the General Meeting of Club members.
4.2. The General Meeting is held at least once a year.
4.3. The General Meeting’s competence includes:
- Approval of the Club Charter and amendments thereto
- Election of the Club Coordinating Council
- Determination of the main areas of the Club’s activities
- Approval of the Coordinating Council’s reports
- Decisions on the termination of the Club’s activities.
4.4. The General Meeting is considered competent if more than half of the Club members are present. Decisions are made by a simple majority of votes of the Club members present.
4.5. The Club Coordinating Council carries out the current management of the Club’s activities.
4.6. The Coordinating Council is elected by the General Meeting for a term of one year.
